I was introduced this year (by a fellow Fabber) to Mumsnet. I love reading about people’s problems and dilemmas.

This morning I spotted a fellow forumite on there, which set me thinking. Who else enjoys Mumsnet? A modern day Dear Dearie.

There is a Twitter group, best of Mumsnet or something, full of absolute gold from that site

Thank you, thank you! Your laughs are praise enough!

I thought that the whole point of mumsnet was that it’s for mums?

I’ve heard an awful lot of negative stuff about it, that if people think that these forums are bad, they should take a look there

I avoid them because they’re transphobic.

I have occasionally ended up on there after Googling for an answer for a random issue. It can be quite entertaining

A few years back there were a few about escort related sites, where they got reviewed and where you could find their services.

I’d assume OF got a look in last year with its popularity booming!

Which is funny because they would fit just like a glove in this place.

I found Mumsnet interesting, there could be really useful suportive threads but also really bad trolling too.

This is going back a few years so it might have changed.

Oh for giving positive advice about non monogamy I was told I should have my kids removed etc and the back lash was horrendous. Told I may give my kid aids and all sorts.

My point is, I've seen responses that could rival that on here too. It's not the place or location, but individual people as a whole - horribly judgemental by nature. Some are, some aren't. Some here, some there.

I found fab on Mumsnet, and I rarely go back there, it’s a vile place, a nest of vipers.

Way nicer on here.

I used to use a different parenting site with a forum, but if you think these forums can get nasty then you’ve not seen anything.

Yes there are supportive peeps on there but there are also some right shitheads who would tear down a struggling parent as soon as look at them.

I left. I’d had enough of seeing the unpleasantness.
