This term used for care workers annoys me so much! Just if people knew what Carers actually see on a day to day basis they’d realise that they is much more we do.

I don't look at care workers as just that...I appreciate the job that you all do is not easy and can be an emotional drain, caring for some one in the most intimate way and then that person dies...must take such a toll on you all. Thanks for all you do in your Care work...

Unfortunately with past exposure to the few bad careers harming the elderly and bullying them, it’s a tough job title to avoid shunning

Thank-you & I appreciate it. Just annoying when I’ve heard the term “arse wiper” x

Valid point. But I could name you a thousand jobs, where people are misbehaving in their field of work? Nobody should ever be painted badly, cause of a handful of lose cannons.

Trolls will be trolls, its not an easy job to be a care worker and maybe one day we would need them ourselves.

Maybe practise mentally blocking things like that out so it can go over your head of course it's easily said than done but the key word is practise.

You could also hold back from revealing too much about you or your job until you are at a level with someone to open up about yourself to them. Your private life is yours and trolls are just ignorant don't open yourself up to abuse when you have such a big heart and respect for others.

A quote I learnt the other year was "don't expect you from others" which means just because your nice caring understanding and respectful don't expect others to be. It's sad but very true xx

Never heard of that particular term, but ma ex used to work in the community, and sometimes bring a couple of old ladies back to our gaff for an afternoon game of cards, coffee & cake. It was fun chatting shit with them and finding out about what they did during the war

I applied to a care home for work experience when I was at school but didn't get it because when asked how I would feel about changing adult diapers etc I said it wouldn't be my favourite part of the job but I understood that it needed to be done so I would do it.

Working in care is a very difficult job, I'm sure. Not just caring for those in need but dealing with the families expectations etc.
