All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

I remember that tournament well. Portugal knocked out by an inferior Chech Republic (Poborsky!)

Nail biting semi final between England and Germany where I think it was Allan Shearer who was just late to a late game cross?

Germany with Sammer, Bierhoff, Moller, Klinsman, Basler. Great squad!

Ahh gazza! He had a great tournament. England had a very strong squad. Personally I thought Netherlands had the most sheer talent hands down. Disappointed in their performance.

I think that tournament summed up how good it was at the time in the uk Brit pop the minimum wage introduced ok it also gave us tony Blair but looking back personally it was a fantastic time for me probably because I didn’t have a care in the world

Yeah, they were good times, I was only 34, "young" free and single, and as much as there were terrible things going on in the world then, we seem to push the memories of them to the back of our head and remember the happy times

What a time to be alive. The first tournament to captivate me was Italia 90 but a home tournament with a rousing theme song and equally stirring performances was something else.

I was absolutely stupefied by England's performance vs Holland. The first time I'd seen an England team comprehensively outplay one of the continent's traditional powers. Still sadly a rare event but I have high hopes for the current crop

can’t beat a bit of nostalgia though rose tinted specs but I agree we probably do push stuff to one side and just remember the good times

"The Scots are out to seek revenge "

At the risk of fuelling your revenge fantasies, one of the more amusing aspects of beating Holland was that Kluivert scored when we were 4-0 up to put the Scots out!

The dutch squad....Kluivert, Davids, Seedorf, de Boer, Stamm, Van Der Sar, Cocu, Bergkamp!

It's criminal this team won no titles!

The '98 World Cup victory over Argentina with Bergkamp's sublime last-minute winner is one of my top tournament matches of all time!

That was brilliant but in the end the tournament was another disappointment. That loss against Brazil.

Ah good times - I was convinced we were winning that tournament, much like the 1990 World Cup I truly believe had we won the lottery of a penalty shootout in the semis we would have gone on to win. Ah well ...

We will make amends this year! It’s COMING HOME!!!
