to let someone know you like them......if they then wink back you then send a more detailed message......works for some. used to hate them but in this "busy" world we live in i can see their purpose

I quite like winks,I can ignore them without feeling guilty

Sometimes I send one back and I have to say we have met a couple of very hot gorgeous people because of it

We use them to show that were interested. If the other person winks back then we know that they are as well and then start the chat. Seems to work for us.

As a matter of fact I have yes ... the wink led to exchange of messages, which led to a sexy chat on MSN, which led to a very nice meet. They are used on my other site and have led to meets there also ... as I said, they have been used as ice-breakers, but it is how they are followed up too that counts I think

we sue winks to show ppl we liek there profile, but know meeting up is not on the cards, ie if they stipualted not travelling or accomadating, only want fem action etc etc blah blah lol

but its true.they wink you, you wink back,get another wink so you send a nice polite message and they delete never to be heard of again or you get blocked.

strange.
