Have you ever carried a torch for someone you've known for a while?

Maybe they are a good friend and you feel/felt friend zoned.

Maybe they are in a relationship and the timing is all wrong.

Or are you waiting for the right moment?

Did you tell them? How did it work out?

Or, do you still carry a torch and will never tell them?

If not...why not?

I did.

We went out a few times together as mates and I wanted to tell her but was too shy... then my work mate asked her out.

She ended up marrying him and moving abroad.

I was gutted, but that was a long time ago now.

I’ve had a best friend since I was 5 and fell in love with her at school, never told her as she was my best friend still have feelings for her and haven’t seen her in a while since I moved to the lakes, but recently found out she was single. Just Sod’s law I can’t do anything about it now

Maybe it's unhealthy, because I suppose I do cross my fingers that something might happen.. but I've no expectations. Grateful I have so many beautiful women in my life. It's a nice problem to have.

I had a crush on a female friend for the longest time but never said anything because she wasn’t single and when she finally was I was in a relationship… eventually told her after about 15 years when it looked like it would never go any further

I don't think I have ever had a secret crush, I suffer from opening my mouth before thinking syndrome so if I like someone they will know about it! Any 'crushes' usually become great friends, crushing to me feels like a surface emotion

It was never a secret. We had a thing years ago and he asked me to move away with him, I didn't think he was serious at the time but 30 odd years down the line he is the only man I trust as much as my dad.

Had a crush on my boss once, I used to get a night flight to work and arrive early hours and sleep a couple hours at her apartment in a spare room then travel into the office together. She used to answer the door all sleepy in a nightie, and I wondered if we’d ever make a slightly different arrangement. We were close, but both professional so nothing happened, then she got married for a while and we both moved on to different countries, but still catch up time to time abs carry a bit of matchstick

Yes. The son of my parents’ best friends. Since I was about 10. I used to get sooooo excited when when we went there or they came to ours. We went on holidays together too. There was always chemistry and still is 40 years later. I still get those butterflies when I see him.

Yes, when I was younger (16 ish) - I wasn't as confident back then as I am now. He eventually found out but the feeling wasn't mutual. He's now married with a baby and I'm happily engaged so it all worked out for the best

I had a crush for a couple of years on a friend I’d known for ages, opened up about it to her, kissed and then we both decided it would just be too weird and would probably ruin the friendship that we’d built.

I’m now head bride dude for her wedding and outrank all of her bridesmaids
