From the land of haribos.

I want to conclude my thread I did, which got to big and I want to say that it is good to know that they like it when you greet and to sometimes hold a little conversation with them. I always greet them like with a hello and then thanks have a nice day

Always, and it's nice if they chat, must be interesting working on a checkout. I would be trying to work out who they are and how they live if I worked on a checkout plus you get to play with the 'boooop' machine

Every time, without fail. Unless it's one of those check out staff who launch your items at you whilst your frantically trying to shove everything into a bag without squashing it.

I try to greet and chat most people whether it be bar staff, waitresses, etc

You can quickly tell if they're friendly and want to converse or not

My local Lidl is terrible for it. It's almost like a game of dodge the tin of beans!

Absolutely. Manners don't cost a penny!

I always greet and wish a good day when I'm leaving. And if a brief conversation starts, all the better!

Is numbers everywhere! We have to pick 175 items an hour in supermarket I work pushing that heavy cart! Then u get customers standing looking at a shelf u need to get to turning the packs over reading them all! They see u out of corner of their eye but ignore! So I stand and wait and wait! All the while thinking not gonna b 175 today! Dont know what happened thurs I made 185! And we get nagged on it all the time! I love the job apart from the picking rate! Customers are ok with me being older I suppose! But can b quite rude to the younger ones! X

I do and if they give me back a hello how are you then I ask them too. Sometimes I end up in conversations with them but then I tell them mice talking to them I'll let them serve the others before I get the huff and puffs eye rolling at me xx
