I really want to like Korean food but everything I've tried is really flipping spicy!

The flavours and smells and textures excite me but I can't handle the spicy!

Any good Korean foods that are not too spicy or that I can make. Myself at home and adjust the spicyness?

As a side dish, you can't beat kimchi. There's a good recipe on the BBC site, just cut down the ginger and chilli paste a bit, but not too much.

Bang bang chicken is sweet but spicy

A Korean salad as opposed to noodles or rice breaks up the spice

Do you mean spicy or hot?

A lot of people conflate the two.

All Korean food is spicy and flavourful

But not everything is hot.

You can ask the restaurant to prepare the food with less heat and they should be able to cool it down.

Obviously there are some bbq food that's not too hot and broths that are just amazing.

Or their version of dumplings

Mint or cream sauces are a good side for lowering the spice, think similar to Indian meals

Spicy as in chilli spicy.

Not sure if they're Korean or not but I like the look of soup dumplings!

There's this recipe which is Korean flavours (you could replace the tofu with chicken).
