So on the news today it has been announced that 601 people are going to receive some compensation for the Physical and psychological emotional trauma that they have all suffered because of The Hillsborough tragedy...I am sure that NO AMOUNT OF MONEY compensates for all the pain and grief felt by these people...I'm sure they would rather have their 96 loved ones still alive and also no suffering for the other people affected on that fate full day. South Yorkshire Police have been found not guilty of misconduct for changing their notes from that day, as for Duckenfield...well he WAS FOUND GUILTY of Gross Negligence but has not received any form of punishment for his crime My heart goes out to all the family's and friends involved. AS FOR THE 96 THAT DIED THAT DAY..MAY THEY ALL REST IN PEACE..JUSTICE FOR THE 96..YNWA!!

Having their loved ones names dragged through the mud and being blamed for the tradedgy for so long must have been extremely difficult. Money won't make up for it but at least it is a bit of vindication.

Yes an absolute disgrace that they tried to pin all the blame on the Liverpool supporters...and it has taken far too long...2016.. to legally clear all 96 of their names This financial recompense comes from a Civil Claim..even though South Yorkshire Police have been found 'Not Guilty' they had previously agreed to settle claims regarding this...does this not make it clear that they 'ARE GUILTY' This stadium should 'NEVER' had been arranged to hold a cup final as the stadium was no way near big enough to hold all the supporters expected.

This should have been resolved years ago.

Many people still think the Police were guilty of fraud, corruption and gross incompetence - yet getting anything through the courts when they basically investigate each other is another kettle of fish altogether

I could write a very lengthy piece on this…

I’ll keep it to Justice..

Very emotive subject being from Liverpool. I was only young when it happened but my god it’s engrained in me, in everyone I know here.

No one being held to account is just a kick in the teeth.

I couldn't believe when they said it wasn't breaking the law by changing statements and that's why they got off.

It's disgusting how it's been dealt with and no money will ever replace what they have LOST YNWA

It's a pay off .

The whole thing has been an absolute joke from day 1 and proved what an utter farce brotish justice is.

The fact that no one was held responsible yet policemen were still able to claim compensation is a sick joke.

That’s the difference between civil & criminal prosecutions, the burden of proof is much lower.

Edmonton

In 1981 FA Cup semifinal Tottenham v Wolves 38 fans were crushed / injured and there is still video footage of some fans sitting just behind the goal on the grass. This is 8 years before the Hillsborough disaster why did the FA choose Hillsborough back then when Old Trafford or Maine Road would have been better and safer alternatives.
