Looked through a social media friends list ..added a friend of a friend you never met anyway so it's not quite the same as someone you actually know and then gone for it ????

Or is it just me

Gone for it??

But no - I'm useless at adding friends in the first place and only accept people I know myself!

No but I did get a message of someone who I started chatting to. Turned out I wasn't who they thought they were. Didn't have the heart to tell them. Chatted to them for about 2 years

I added a lady I swiped on a dating app then like a year later I was looking through her friends list and spotted a lady who was older than me but looked in my opinion like she needed fucking and was single yet lived miles away.

Sent her a message and the rests history..

The next challenge I've set myself is a lady selling sexy heels on social media if I can do the same

Dubai & Nottingham

It sounds a bit wrong / creepy but it’s no different to how things used to work, friend of a friend or even going up to a complete stranger in a bar.

My kids meet most their dates this way , whenever I ask how they know a certain guy it’s oh he added me on Insta, he”s friend of so and so, but often the adding wasn’t a result of meeting but vice versa.

I think it’s probably ok as many people choose to publish a view / snapshot of themselves to strangers on Insta and fb. I’ve never looked myself , but am a member of some groups where it happens , group membership on Facebook is slightly different as you have common interests.

I wouldn’t rule it out tbh, some women I know do actually prefer this to physical approach from a stranger

Can't blame you for trying.

I chatted to someone from Facebook for years who spotted me by searching certain names.

Creepy..... So fucking creepy!

A perk of a job is a free coffee, not stalking people.

Fucking hell

All creepy and predatory behaviour.

The middle one, I’ve got a relative serving 12 years for something like that

And men wonder why we get a bad reputation... most, if not all of the above is pretty creepy to be honest.

I know it work for the OP in one instance, but I know plenty of women who have been on the receiving end of such advances and felt quite freaked out.

Suprised they didn't get complaints and get sacked tbh.

Total invasion of privacy and abuse of their role.

Yeah but if they accept then tbh you sound bitter and jealous .

If they cried about it then yeah your right but nobody does I've ever heard of

No, I only have people on there who I know. It takes a lot me too add a friends request (or even send one!)

Why would I be bitter and jealous of a creep?

I can meet people without having to stoop to those levels. They obviously can't. They should be jealous of me.

Not at all.

I'm very particular who I will add. My family pictures and things I do are on my social media so mine is practically locked down. All privacy settings on full

"Looked through a social media friends list ..added a friend of a friend you never met anyway so it's not quite the same as someone you actually know and then gone for it ????

nope

but I understand why some might want to

making contact with others is a basic human behaviour, we all do it in one form or another so why not via social media? Isn't it the way of the world these days?

I know it may come across as a little stalker-ish if persued heavily, but as long as initial advances are not directly rejected (which should be taken on the chin and move on) in my humble opinion, it might be worth a try.

Better to give it a go and get nowhere than not give it a try and regret it?

There is the chance that giving it a try could lead to lots of fun and happiness!
