Sure I know this isn't facebook, but nobody cannot be outraged at the news of 215 indigenous children found in a mass grave of a residential school run by priests and of the Catholic church.

Not aware of it, not surprised, I wasn't until 2007 when I met married an Ojypwa Chippewa female from Hiawatha reservation in Ontario Canada. Then my eyes were opened. Indigenous children taken from families to be westernised, brutalised by buy people at the residential school. Don't believe me, Google..the catholic church has a lot questions to answer. The Canadian government who approved the residential school system which last upto 1996..in our life time..

It's not something I know enough about, but it has its parallels with the Stolen Generation in Australia.

Colonialism has much to answer for, and the effects continue to ripple down the generations.

This isn't the place for it? Why. The virus is discussed, politics is discussed, why shouldn't this be discussed and more importantly have a light shone on the injustice. Apathy breeds acceptance. If people knew back in the day, this was going on and did nothing and now the children of those in 2021 know and do nothing. It shames us all. I respect your opinion

You are absolutely right. I was brought up in empirical education where we weren't taught about what was happening by colonialism. We can't change the past, but we can certainly seek justice for the survivors.

I'm fortunate that I learned about it outside school.

We need to do better
