"I let mine go I was starting look a bit homeless "

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of! I guess it's a fine line between "sexy, designer beard" and "old testament prophet"!

As I can’t see what you look like without a beard it’s hard to say. But with a beard looks good so if he inclined to say keep it

local, but not too local

I had mine professionally trimmed yesterday with a haircut.

Hot towels, cut-throat shave, the lot.

Brilliant experience, thoroughly recommended it.

So, like properly tidied up by a barber? yeah, that sounds like a good option. It's so hot at the minute. I feel like Gandalf fighting the balrog.

Keep. Long as you stay on top of it & trim the more errant wisps. As someone with a fairly wide fizzog, I tend to keep the sides shorter with a bit more length in the stache/chin.

If you aren't sure, remember it will always grow back if you try cutting it.

Neither be cynical about beards;

for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment

they are as perennial as the grass.

The choice is entirely yours op

I tend to let everywhere go a bit wild and then do something different, a porn tash, a toilet seat, lamb chops, strip of hair through the middle of my head, a tin tin tuft, a charactor off sesame street, can't think of his name, wear those for a few days then shave it all off, if you've spent so much time growing it at least get a bit of a giggle from it before it's all gone I say

Yeah I did wonder about doing the friendly mutton chops - Victorian pugilist I call it. Trouble is, it makes me look like the losing prize-fighter in a steampunk sherlock holmes movie.

I reckon you suit your beard OP, but it's up to you. Mine is a bit on the wild side at the moment, tempting to whip it all off, but I'm going to keep it going for a bit (tidying it up of course)
