Not sure if you used sunscreen in the first place OP, but if you didn't then it's curvature (you must have a nicely rounded bottom that the sun hits just right). If you used sunscreen, my money's on friction - it rubbed off. Where you gyrating much while lying on your towel?

Ouch, that's gonna make life tricky for a day or 2! I recommend Ladival or M&S after sun as they work well. The m&s contains hyaluronic acid so nice plumping effect Vichy do a nice spray water sunscreen so that might be easier to apply when next you get your bum out
