Off out tonight with the males of my family, we are going for tea at a smokehouse.

Because I am indecisive and everyone despairs of this my son has sent me the menu and told me to try and decide prior...

Been trying to decide since 11 am keep drifting to the pudding section...Double confusion because I don't know what pudding I want either!!

Can't decide between the salmon,a burger or a steak???

How would you choose?

When eating out are you like me An habitual indecisive person or do you know what you want pretty quickly??

I can usually decide pretty quickly.

From your choice I wouldn't have the salmon as I'm not keen on it. So between steak and burger I would probably go for the burger as I haven't had one in a while.

Sorted.

I pick a few things on the menu and keep changing my mind, asking C what she’s getting and then if she’s getting the same as me, then I’ll change to something else - you can’t eat the same food…I mean how can I try some of hers then?!

Then when the waiter/ess comes over I look at the menu and pick something different

I choose what I am unlikely to be bothered to make at home.

If everything on the menu is the case and I’m unlikely to visit the restaurant again, then I get everyone to order something different so that I can try a bit of everyone’s dish.

The juicy burger. The succulent one. In a bun. With chunky fries and a selection of sauces (tomato, mustard, bbq). And maybe fried onions and lettuce. Feel the burger. Taste the burger.

OP, you mentioned three options (salmon, burger and steak) and then threw in the brisket as not being a choice as your son is ordering the share platter, which has brisket.

It sounds like you want brisket... So, get brisket. It doesn't matter that it's on the share platter already.

I choose whatever I fancy, that doesn't have anything I am allergic to. My only choice issue is whether to get two or three starters instead of a main.

Order the brisket, get lots of sides. Like sweet potato fries, a tomato salad, macaroni cheese... you get the idea.

I like ordering several small plates as a main because I'm too indecisive and no one deserves to wait half hour while I umm and ahh (even though I'd have looked up the menu before).

I had pork ends for start, with a salsa sauce and a house burger which came with maple bacon, cheese and salad...cajun fries. We also had ribs, pulled pork and brisket to share.

Biscoffi milkshake laced with Bourbon and a watermelon mocktail thing...

Was lovely, though the restaurant interior looked like something out of Dukes of Hazzard and I was tempted to start a bar fight

"What did you choose in the end???

I had pork ends for start, with a salsa sauce and a house burger which came with maple bacon, cheese and salad...cajun fries. We also had ribs, pulled pork and brisket to share.

Biscoffi milkshake laced with Bourbon and a watermelon mocktail thing...

Was lovely, though the restaurant interior looked like something out of Dukes of Hazzard and I was tempted to start a bar fight

You'll need rolling now like an oompa lumpa "

I definitely feel like an oompa loompa

My youngest son also announced his promotion and 15% pay increase at work...and insisted on footing the bill

Should be proud of your son xx he sounds like a proper gent "

I am immensely proud, he's worked hard for what he has.....I did rib him a bit though, he has been working from home during the pandemic and rolls out of bed a minute before he has to log in at work....and then sits at his desk all day. Like wtf!

Always good when you have something you fancy!

Yep agreed with that, my youngest has been working from my home through the pandemic and they are in no rush to open the studio so I have him for a while longer yet
