Considering the long list of things people as a collective don't like on the forums. (such as lamp post pissing, flirting, emojis, etc etc)

What would you be left with in order to keep everyone happy?

Try to be nice and polite (IMO).

Don't be a dick.

Talking about politics and religion will only cause arguments.

The list is endless.

But most of all - bring cake.

I'm not here for boring! Yeah certain things can get a bit much and sometimes people should think before posting, but end of the day that's what is so great about the forums. I've met most of my friends and a few meets through the forums, and made me aware of some people I wouldn't want to meet. So it's added to my hot list and my block list.

Be yourself on here. Some will agree with you some won't .A lot will ignore you and that's just normal on here .

I've very little that annoys me on here anymore the main two are hypocrites tho they say one thing while doing exactly what they lecture about and guys who white knight all the time. I mean does that ever actually work for them .I don't mind men agreeing with women on here on things but it's those that run in agree with every woman when they moan about men no matter how obscure or nasty the woman is they will side with them every time and put men down.

Passed Beyond Reach

Forums - just my view are about exchange of information - maybe discussing experiences which some but not all may find of value.

Forums are by their nature across the board moanfests

Fab forums are about are moaning and getting attention mostly. People change their viewpoint depending on who they think they will get the attention. Post things that will appeal to others. They say things they think will appeal to certain others, others lap it up

Just my viewpoint

If you want to get to no people isn't that what chat is for?

I try and post things and share experiences that people may take something away from or help others.

For me forums as I said are about exchange of experiences that may help others.

My view of what forums should be about

I (me, just me and no one else) think (the thought in my head right at this moment which may or not change over time) we (collective which may or may not include every forum user) should qualify (really really explain) everything (yes EVERYTHING but sometimes not all things) which is typed (words on a screen strung together in what may or may not be in a syntatically coherent form).

Unfortunately this is purely subjective, I am always myself - I never try to be something I'm not unlike many. Unfortunately I'm often ostracised for being myself. How do you determine if you're being a dick or not? Isn't that again subjective and the criteria individuals interpretation of being a dick and the the ability to convince others that you're a dick based in on their own surmisation, prejudices and biases .

I'm not an insider. Far from it as I know very few people on the site and rarely chat to anyone but it's pretty obvious at times because it's usually not very subtle. A bit like cockblocking that is also prevalent in some threads and the tribute threads clearly designed to show that some are in with the in crowd.

Honestly I think this one depends. I personally have multiple times had interactions with people on the forums where either I or they are trying to message, often about a forum topic instead of taking over the post with our conversation but can't due to filters and we've used the forum to figure it out between us and had a great conversation by message in the end. I personally don't have an issue with people asking me in the forums if they can message me privately, I just ignore it if I don't want to but most of the time I've been happy to. If someone repeatedly replied to me about wanting to message me though, especially if it was in random posts rather than during a conversation on a topic, I would probably block them and then report it if they still continued.

I guess, but in the context I was referring to, it was mostly in a forum game or if they did want to talk about the conversation topic of the forum thread, they would have the common sense to mention that in their post in my opinion.

"Considering the long list of things people as a collective don't like on the forums. (such as lamp post pissing, flirting, emojis, etc etc)

What would you be left with in order to keep everyone happy? "

You can’t keep everyone happy and you shouldn’t try either.

Yes take others into consideration and don’t act to be directly injurious to others but the person that you most need to look after is yourself.

There are so many varied approaches to posting on here and so many judge others on their own value systems, that it’s impossible to please everyone. If you tried then there would be no point in posting or you would contradict yourself within minutes
