"Please answer either A, B or C A. Hotter B. Colder C. I haven’t a clue, so I leave it in the middle. " Read the manual. Oh I forgot men don't read manuals.... Higher number is usually colder. It may also be in "frost stars" "*", 1,2,3,4 etc. The more frosty stars the colder the fridge or freezer.

" That’s not necessarily true.....well, the first bit is, about men not reading manuals but the higher is colder bit may be inaccurate. Some number correspond to temperature, hence the higher the number, the warmer the fridge. The best way to test it is to set the temperate in the middle. Then first thing in the morning or whenever the fridge had not been opened for a prolonged period and is sitting quietly, turn the knob up of down. When the knob ‘clicks’ and the refrigeration mechanism starts up, you’ll know which is the lower temperature because the fridge will be trying to cool it from its current setting. Did that make sense?
