Do you remember in the day when tele finished at midnight and the rest card came on having listened to the national anthem playing just 3 channels now through the night is the norm times they are a changing

I had a little portable black and white tv as a kid and used to do the exact same thing with the white dot, I also remember the huge amount of static that it produced lol

Lifes Departure Lounge in NN9

I remember our first television set, I was a Bush, it had a 9" screen in a huge cabinet and to enhance it's viewing experiance we had a huge magnifying glass on adjustable legs, this was around 1950.

It was replaced with a 12" screen Pye set for the Coronation, still with the magnifying glass.

Happy days

I remember when the test card used to come on during the day, there was periods when BBC didn’t broadcast and just showed the test card.

I remember an old portable at my grandparents house. It was in the spare bedroom so was used by anyone who stayed over. It was a little b&w set and instead of buttons or a remote control it had a dial to tune it in to the channels (like a radio).
