In the middle

I enjoy listening to the birds chirping away in the morning, there is a lovely blackbird that sings away for ages, then every now and there is just a dreadful screeching noise, gawd knows what it is, I recon it’s a magpie and it just sounds horrid

Minx, I’m not sure if you can post YouTube links in the forum.

If you put in Nick Revell and Dawn Chorus into YT, you’ll find a wonderful evocation and explanation of the complex, joyous avian interactions that are occurring.

It starts a couple of minutes into the clip.

I used to have a Robin who would defend his territory vigorously every spring.

Only problem poor little nutter was doing it against himself in the reflection of my bedroom window. Usually at silly o clock. He used to really go at it and make a loud noise banging against the window.

Not seen him for a while now sadly.

I like laying in bed with the window open listening to the birds.

As it's a nice day today they are having a lovely sing song in the trees in my front garden.

There's a Great Tit that can be heard above the Sparrows, and a Blackbird chiming in now and then.

We have a very noisy flock of sheep, that love to make a noise at first light. Can’t open the window in the height of summer sometimes.

Through the heat of the last two months I've had a magpie nest in a tree outside my bedroom window. They arise with the sun and were so flappin' loud that I made the choice to limit air circulation and close my bedroom window rather than have the highest noise levels at 4am. Hopefully they're only once a year brooders
