Or like me, a bit flat, and feeling a bit bleurgh?

Been a bit bleurgh. Coming back from it.

Turns out hiding indoors for over a year left me without any vitamin D.

underlying flatness that I refuse to let come through.

shits creek

I'm shattered.

Being back at work and hitting full steam pre-covid energy levels is taking its toll on me physically. My shoulders ache, my wrists ache, my lower back aches and all I can feel from the hips down is ouch.

Our cleaner was off this morning so last night after we closed we needed to full clean. So 8 hour shift with no break, plus cleaning and we finished cleaning with 3 mins until my hourly bus was due.... so missed that and ended up walking the 3 miles home. I would have got a taxi but only made enough in tips for todays bus.

I'm on the close tonight followed by the open in the morning.

Have a ton of housework to do and bigger all time or energy

What I do when I’m feeling a little flat:

either

a) jump in my car, crank up some music that’s uplifting and go for a drive along some quiet roads.

Or

b) crank up some music that always peps me up. Sometimes, it’s classical and I picture a scene to it or the orchestra performing it. Usually, it’ll be tunes that put a spring in my step,

I’ll sing aloud, loudly, to them and dance. Sometimes, I’m dancing with or singing to someone in my mind and seeing them smile or laugh at me doing it.

It takes my mind away from my current flat space and can help my body build up enough momentum to escape it.

I feel good today, ready for teaching more dance classes this evening which always lifts my mood

My tips to anyone feeling flat is to get out into the fresh air, stick your earphones in and blast your favourite music and take a stroll somewhere, make a list of small achievable goals, start something new even if it’s a tv show it will take your mind elsewhere or have a call with a friend - everything is temporary don’t let one bad day set you back xx

This said going back to work last week as definitely cheered me up, I had been so grumpy and down in the dump of late ....

Work being busy, hectic and somewhat disorganised has given me a purpose I guess.

After my initial flush and euphoria of being back on fab, the gloss has come off and it isn't quite how I remember it.

It could also be down to things going on in real life, so my usual interactions on the forums have tailed off somewhat.

Taking a break from here won't do any harm I guess, but like the guy delivering pizza at a house party, I can peer through the window and see everyone else having fun, but can't participate.

Fingers crossed things will look rosier in a few days

I'm up and down in different days, some days are boss then others are boring and slow. Can't be arsed watching the news anymore as it's all politicians/news reporters having a go at each other over this and that and all trying to get one up over each other. Need some positivity and fun around the place! Head feels full of fog and want it gone. But on the other hand I'm healthy and still working. So shouldn't really moan

... Its an awful feeling but if nothing else is working for you then do reach out to someone.. They will understand and listen... Its not easy but even a 5min conversation about it with someone will make a world of difference... Whatever you do don't let it fester.

Sailed through the last year without any major issues despite losing my job.

Stayed fairly upbeat and positive.

The last few weeks though have been different and I've been very flat and struggling to motivate myself.

I think for a lot of people, these last few weeks have been tricky, we are emerging from the depths of a pandemic, but maybe not, but hopefully.

We don’t know what’s going on, there’s no certainty, and it’s hard.

In addition, we’re grieving for the life we’ve lost, the things we knew.

Be gentle with yourself.
