Spot the ball checking…honestly if you ever done the spot the ball competition then you’d have never have won with me as I used to never check them properly

You got a clear sheet which you had to align to the coupon and then it had a tiny dot where the ball was and the ‘cross’ had to be in the exact centre of the X.

I was hungover most days on a Saturday

Na this is showing off I've always found money in the streets even as a child I'm not talking about pennies notes 10, 20,5 plus change left over from a person who obviously was to d*unk to remember to pick it up I had two pubs on the street I grew up at each end oh plus the paper round and tips at Christmas

1996 was my first job . £40 a week ,then I was paid a extra £10 for the Saturday plus they put a extra £15 for the effort I put in .

Can honestly say though although the money wasn’t great , he was the best teacher . Made me what I am and have today .

I was only 14 when I had my first job and I earned between £5 and £10 depending on how busy we were through the day. It was just a Saturday job.

My first job at 16 I was paid £51:22 a week.

1971 was the first year of decimalisation of the currency and a lot of pubs took advantage of the rounding up to increase prices. Pints which were 2 shilling and 6 pence in old money suddenly became 20p or 25p in new money an increase of around 50%.

£13.75 as a Saturday girl in the local bakers shop.

I was 14 nearly 15 and it was a long day with heavy work, hood fun though.

I spent my first wage on the newly released Supergrass I should Coco album which I still love and listen to this day
