Also it was a genuine pleasure to watch a film that didnt feel the need to give 2 hours of context and back story, but still felt hugely immersive in that world. The same can be said of the last mad max (another killer film)

" Oh wow, when does this series start? If they get it right, it will be great" Not sure, think they were supposed to start filming last year and it has been delayed as a result. It's been in production for a while with rebellion so it's unlikely to get cancelled.

"Loved lexx when it was on the scifi channel, rewatched it recently, it has aged but not as terribly as I thought it would. I started watching something on amazon which was very, very good and had a great cast but I can't remember what it was... It was about secret tech and a false flag attack trying to start a war between Mars and earth...if anyone knows it. Good scifi reads I'd recommend: the Mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson (can be a bit hard going in places but well worth sticking with!) and seven eves, can't remember the author though. It's not that I have a terrible memory, I'm just naturally discrete... " That sounds like it might be the Expanse you are talking about there, which is imo, about the best sci fi show ever made. The Mars trilogy is good too - been a long while since I read it though
