Stopping loneliness

So I’m a single male, I’m knocking on a bit, I’m not amazing looking and I’m in a city where I find it almost impossible to start up a conversation with someone without them thinking that I’m a complete weirdo.

Any suggestions as to how I can rid my mind of the loneliness I feel?

Fab has helped, not as much as I’d hoped as single males are ten to a penny.. answer on a Postcard!

Do you have any hobbies? Maybe join a gym or a running club? There's a board game shop near me that hosts board game nights and dungeons and dragons evenings. Or a writing group?

Both of these are going to sound trite, but they're well meant ideas:

Do you have a hobby? Or can you take one up? A walking group or art class or similar?

Second, are you inclined to volunteer ? Choose a cause you care about.

I've done both in new places. It did help.

Good luck OP.

I’ve looked into hobbies but the things I like are expensive, ie, motorbike and cars etc.

Your right though, maybe I should try something a little different.

Thanks for the input

little house on the praire

Repetion. Whether its a pub a coffee shop or out for a walk. You will start seeing the same faces. Start with a smile then the odd word then go from there. .My mum has met loads of people just by going to the coffee shop

I will gladly give that a try. Thank you.

It’s the simple things I’ve not really though of I guess. I think a friendly face here or there will go a long way.
