I'm thinking of staying in a Premier Inn soon. Does anybody know if they allow guests up to the room without me meeting them at reception? Can they just say visiting someone in room 123 for example?

I'd like to get fully glammed up in room but not keen on walking back to reception looking all tarty. Just be in room ready for my guest.

They don’t like guest visits like that for security, you will need to meet them, or leave a card somewhere they can pick it up if you don’t want to go down.

I’ve had a meet in a premier inn, and the couple wanted me to walk in on them having sex (unsure why lol but that was their thing and I was happy to oblige). They left a spare key card under their car (told me reg etc) I just picked it up and walked in, that’s your best option really. Otherwise it’s a trip to reception to pick them up.

Having just looked at their terms and conditions there's nothing that explicitly covers visitors to rooms OP - but I would think in the current climate they may be a little more stringent about who they let in, especially unregistered visitors.

Do you know in advance who the person visiting will be? If so just add them to the booking, or in fact just book the room for two people (from memory of last time I booked a Premier Inn you don't have to list guest names) and leave a key at reception for them.

I get why you wouldn’t want to go to the reception, but honestly the worry is worse than the reality.

After a New Year’s Eve party at Club Play I got back to my Travelodge and the card wasn’t working. I must’ve looked a right mess as I got back at 5am

However the guy on reception couldn’t have been more professional, sorted out the card and off I went to my room.

So my advice go down it’ll be quite a thrill for you

PI always have key cards to get through reception, even pre-covid. Which is never a bad thing imo.

I’ve stayed in a few different hotels recently for work and where before, you have had to use keypads or cards for most doors, to limit the amount of handle touching, most doors are now open.

I have been able to walk straight thru to my room each time apart from one!

Looks like you will need to assess the situation yourself before getting ‘tarted up’

The lifts need key cards as well, I'd leave a key for him at reception with his name on it and your room number, reception are pretty good with that

Even without the typo this is bad advice!

You can't just have random people staying with you in a booked hotel room.

Say they are VISITING you instead.
