Planet Ork

Who are your favourites, what are your tips.

Really like the chorus of the Cyprus song, nice upbeat and punchy but the rest of it let’s it down.

Italy are the favourites but I can’t see a rock band winning again so soon, I don’t think that much of it anyway.

Switzerland is one of the better ones but without the proper video to it the storyline of the song is difficult to convey on stage.

Malta are in with a squeak but my money ( and I have put a sizeable bet on ) is on France. It’s a beautiful melodic tune, haunting but mesmerising, slow and upbeat and ending in a spiralling catchy crescendo. I don’t speak any French but you don’t need to to appreciate the passion in the performance, no backing dancers, no orchestra, no gimmicks. Just the singer, singing powerfully and passionately in her own language. Barbara Pravi singing Voila is my favourite.

I have not seen a lot of entries but did like the Iceland one.

Will look forward to the full event this evening

My hopes are with Italy! I’d absolutely love Germany to win though. That song has been an ear worm for months, granted he looks like one member of Jedward absorbed the other but that’s not his fault.

I love most of the entries this year and I wouldn’t be mad if any of them won (excepting Norway I can’t believe that got through!).

. In Cyprus a lot of people did not want the song to represent us as El Diablo which in other countries means the devil. As we are bought up ad Orthodox this is quite controversial back home. One guy turned up outside the television studios in his van with lots of petrol cans threatening to ram the van into to studios if the song was chosen.Yes it’s a catchy number and at 50/1 is worth a each way bet if Ladbrokes app allows each way on the Eurovision Song Contest other wise £10 on France at 9/4 it is for me

I’ve not been following the entries - are there any funny ones this year? Who should I look out for?
