I am thinking the Lotto authorities probably 'persuade' them to go public.

Seeing normal people win huge amounts makes it attainable to everyone - therefore more future tickets sold !

little house on the praire

No i bloody wouldnt, first thing i would do is take myself on holiday to somewhere quiet and give myself time to let it sink in.

I guess locally they would find out but i would just refuse to answer one way or another.

Honestly? Well I wouldn't choose to but in reality I wouldn't care as I would be off to Caribbean shores and out of it.

"Honestly? Well I wouldn't choose to but in reality I wouldn't care as I would be off to Caribbean shores and out of it. "

thats ok to say but when you have family and friends around you its not that easy.

i wouldnt move far at all.

one of my employees won £7mil about 6 years ago and he went public and wish he hadnt.

within the first week he had over 200 begging letters. People even came to his door at all hours with sob stories to tell, begging for money.

he gave his best man £200k to pay off his mortgage and get a new motor and some extra to help out. The ungrateful bastard accused him of being tight, as they had been friends for years. They had a big fall out and havent spoken since.

People change when they see pound signs like that, imagine if you had £150 million...

150 is far to much. I had thought if i did win something that big, id do good with it. I wouldnt go public. Buy all the empty shops in my town and fill them with shops we need, creating 100s of jobs this town needs.

Maybe even buy all the empty houses in this town, get them done up so people can actually move into them rather than just left to rot.

Don't see the point in buying a huge home, expensive cars etc.

All this powerful rich people who moan at the poor for not giving enough money to charity etc, yet they are happy to keep all their millions.

yep far too much. 150 people winning a million would still give them plenty..

Lottery wants the publicity.. It encourages more people to buy tickets. people want to see ordinary winners ..and have the hope they can do it too.

id happily pose with a great big lottery cheque.

and with me id have some friends and those i care about.

if it was a lot of money they would be getting some of it.

and once i had the mic in my hand id say

'to all those that treated me like crap!, wanna tenner?'

winning the lotto is very rare.and you got to just enjoy it.

Its publicity for Camelot when winners go public. They advise you to go public and will offer councelling and financial advice. If you stay quiet you dont get any of the after care.

It's all the kiss and tell stories afterwards that would worry me. A meet appears on the front of the Sun revealing all about you. No thanks.

This is true. If you refuse publicity they drop you like a hot turd, but with 148 million in your pocket - fuck 'em and hire your own solicitor. First thing I would do is take every penny out of this country and put it in offshore accounts.

But having your face plastered all over the press is an excellent way of keeping you in the country. If you went anywhere in Africa and probably the most of the US you might as well wear a t-shirt that says "I'm a multi-millionaire - please kidnap one of my family"

An oldie but a goodie

The husband and wife who won millions on the lottery. The wife said to her husband. What are we going to do with all these begging letters. The husbands response was, "keep on sending them out"

The bastards never asked me to go public, two numbers and a lucky star, £6. I let things die down a bit and collected it today, after I added another few quid i got my shopping
