Coping with hurt

Secret hideaway in the pennines

When you are hurting, like true emotional hurt, how do you cope.

Like a lot of people, it hasn't been a great start to the year, but the last couple of weeks have been truly painful emotionally.

I'm ashamed to say last night, the cork burst, and I hit the bottle, it didn't make things any better, in fact it probably made things worse at the time.

So what is your coping method when you hit that low point

I'm a very positive person and try not to take all things personally. I also talk to my friends often and keep myself busy. Xx

Try counselling if its really bad

Sounds pretty similar emotionally to mine at times. I tend to talk to whoever will listen, tell everyone my problems and, I suppose, seek sympathy. Drink can come into it too for sure. Might have lead to me not being around the forums for 24 hours. :-/
