Mole removal

I have one in a very intimate area that I'm thinking of having removed. It's not a problem other than being a bit unsightly for the few that get to see it.

I'm a bit embarrassed to go to the doctor about it but I'm gradually coming around to the idea.

I'd appreciate any advice or information from you knowledgeable lot

Dave had one removed from testicle a few years ago. The mole itself was more embarrassing than getting it removed.

The surgeon did it under local anesthetic in less than 15 mins - without leaving a scar!

Remember they’ve seen it all before many times.

I had one removed from my back, it didn’t hurt, just felt like a pressure, and then it was gone.

Been thinking about removal too, but not sure if it's now part of my identity.

I had a male on my cheek that liked like I drew it on but then it began to get a little darker so saw a Dr about it.

He cut it off with a scalpel under a local anesthetic and you can barely even tell it was ever there unless I get a bit of a tab on my face.

No stitches or anything, piece of cake

not a mole but had a lump on my forhead, the doctor saw it and was worried about it so refered me, it took 20 mins max with a local, felt a bit weird but didnt hurt and a few stiches, now you wouldnt know, the worst bit was having the stiches taken out lol

Here, there and everywhere!

I had a mole removed on my tummy a couple of years ago, gp refered me to a specialist, I saw them a couple of weeks later and the mole was off a week after that

The 'surgery' was dead straight forward, just a few little injections around the area and it was out on a few minutes. No fuss or drama, only slight issue was the smell of burning flesh!

Thankfully came back all clear.

Doesn't sound too bad - apart from the local anaesthetic which I guess will mean a needle in a very sensitive area

When I had my hysterectomy op one of the doctors came to see me after and said he noticed a mole on my inner thigh and had referred me to a dermatologist.

A few weeks later I was seen as an outpatient and had the mole removed with local anesthetic. Thankfully it was benign but I was so grateful to that doctor for recommending that I have it looked at as I would have continued to think nothing of it.

My advice is to get it looked at, the doctors are so understanding and utterly professional that you will be put at ease and not made to feel awkward.

The local anaesthetic that I had for my vasectomy was a liquid that they wiped over the area. The one in my throat for a endoscopy was a liquid they sprayed down my throat.

I'm guessing there is a good chance you won't need a needle.

Somewhere in the middle not the.....

I had one removed from my face about 12 years ago as it was increasing in size and getting pretty pronounced, done under local anesthesia and took about ten mins and healed in less than a week x

Mole removal can sometimes be seen as cosmectic. And they won't always do them in the NHS. I had on on my bra line. It used to catch and bleed at times. Then in the summer would swell up and engorge. I had it removed by GP, under local. I have a tiny scproion shape scar. But you have to really look for it.
