We've all got one! Mine was Mandy. A school friend for years, loads of flirting in our late teens but never single at the same time and despite everyone knowing we fancied each other, it just never happened. Still some great memories though

I don't. Some of my exs were great, some not so much, but all those relationships ended for good reasons.

Not so much ‘the one that got away’ but there was an electricity between us that made it both great and destructive.

There are good reasons that we split and I’m glad that we did but when it was good, it was amazing

If they got away it was for a good reason. There's not a single person in my life I think "what if?" about.

I can totally relate to that. Highs and lows were too extreme to be healthy.

Me neither. If it’s to be it will be.

I don't have one either. My recent ex I still have strong feelings for, but I ended that for very good reasons and don't regret it.

I'm not sure if he got away.

But it always felt magical and great. I was 20 and he would rock my world lift me up and spin me around.. Then lots of bad choices after that one...

I have one and the reason it ended wasn't really for a good reason as it was before I recognised I had a mood disorder. I just shut her out for no reason and she attempted to get back in to no avail.

I sometimes think 'what if?' (mainly because I think she would've been interested in swinging) but I don't pine or have any interest in searching her out now.

There’s one..a hedonistic, whirlwind of a man who would set my soul on fire but could burn me just as quick.

A fun at the time or many times as the case was, I’ll always feel something for him but on reflection I know I’m a better person without him x

One school time one that never worked out because we were always trying to convince the other we didn’t fancy each other. 35 years passed and …. We stopped trying to convince each other…. We’re in touch a lot and occasionally a fwb thing.

I eventually had a thing with my one that got away after 16 years and it taught me one thing.....they got away for a very good reason

If they were that good then they wouldn't have got away, if they're gone then enjoy the memories as that's where they should stay.

You remember her all your life?

Raining down as cold as ice

Now your just shadows of a man

A face through a window

Crying in the night

The night goes into

Morning, just another day

Happy people pass your way

Looking in their eyes

You see a memory

You’re now realising

How happy she made you?

south west

I had a colleague once who I really got on with, desks next to each other and chatting between calls. Really good banter and lightweight flirting. Unfortunately she was married, whilst I was single. However, her marriage was on the rocks. One day, she suddenly lunged across my desk and snatched a post-it note that I hadn’t seen. Puzzled I picked it up from where she had put it, and read “how about it, my place after work today?”

That was the first suggestion I had that she actually liked me more than just friends which really surprised me! I would have been up for it as well, being a horny 20 something year old but the moment had passed - looking back she was in a bad place in her marriage and I think she had a moment of weakness as it was never discussed again.

Years later, we made contact on Facebook. She was single! But... I was married that’s kind of been our thing, when one of us had been single, the other one hasnt!
