Fab isn't always as inclusive as it could be. Bi-women are sought after but bi-men can be shunned, for instance.

I'm never sure why the idea of 'preference' leads to being rude and hateful to others.

We all have a choice about how we behave and treat others.

To be honest I really don’t understand why people feel the need to be hateful towards things that they don’t like but it’s not just fab.

Respect and acceptance takes effort and ignorance tends to breed contempt.

Add in the fact that people dissociate words on their screen from real breathing people on the other end and there’s a recipe for issues.

I’m not going to start about bi guys as that’s a different soap box

In terms of the specifics regarding bi guys; the social stigma is down to several factors.

The male sexual gaze is very prevalent when it comes to acceptance of bi women, female bisexuality is fetishised (not that it’s any better to be fetishised), whereas the male sexual gaze is threatened by male bisexuality.

Bi guys are emasculated for the act of penetration (it’s seen as a female act) so are considered less manly by many.

Bi guys are considered to be dirty, more likely to carry STI’s, in reality they are in the same risk group as swingers but the stigma persists, partially due to ignorant concepts from the AIDS epidemic.

Some people simply are homophobic and are worried that a bi guy will break boundaries and try to instigate sexual contact. There’s also the deep seated fear that the guy will like it as well...

I could go on all day here but this is just a few reasons as to why there’s such a stigma surrounding bi guys.

Also remember that male bisexuality and homosexuality were illegal to the 60s. Resulting in imprisonment or worse institutionalised.

It has never been illegal for female bisexuality or lesbian. This was perpetuated buy religion etc and is still prevalent today in many cultures. Those social/religious doctrines have been implanted on people for centuries
