"Is this actually a thing. Looks like Fury v Joshua will be in Saudi but some say that this is sportswashing and it ignores the Saudi Human Rights record.. Not sure " Well if it in Saudi then it appears neither boxer is overly concerned about that issue.

"Yes this is certainly sports-washing (putting on a big event to promote a country to try and distract from the horrors that are really going on). However money talks and some serious money would have been talked for this fight. Fury and Joshua, no matter their beliefs have to look out for themselves, this will be prob be the biggest fight for any of them so they have to earn as much as possible, unless there is a re-match, lol or a trilogy, now we are talking big money." Of course money is the main factor but they're both multi-millionaires already so not exactly in need of any more if their deepest principles are being offended in the process. I therefore assume they caare more about the money than human rights in Saudi Arabia and that's entirely their prerogative. If/when either of them start preaching morals to the rest of us we'll at least be able to decide whether or not they're being hypocrites. Yes of course the contract will ensure there's a rematch etc for the very same reason - to make everyone concerned even richer.

Totally agree with you, they should just host it in the UK it’s the biggest British fight in a long time, and they should reward the British fans to at least have a chance to watch it, but with COVID and the likes it does really need to be in a country that doesn’t care about COVID and will put on the event regardless. But it’s a business, and neither of them are really known for their ethical stances, and go where the money is. I bet a £5 that the rematch is on our shores though, just to spin more money.

Joshua made quite a lot of noise about racism during the BLM protests. Some might argue that taking £50-60m from fighting in Saudi evidently trumps those views.
