"I cant seem to get into it, the goalkeepers are awful, i dont want to appear sexist, but do they play in full sized goals? I'll say one thing though, they dont dive and cry half as much as the blokes." I've just had a look at the World Cup regulations (on the online) and it mentions the colour of the posts and the state of the nets but not the size of the goal area. Not that I know what size it's supposed to be.

"But they haven't got sexy legs like the men have " I'm sure there will be some people who prefer their legs to the men's.

It seems strange they'd be the same as the mens, given women are smaller and cant jump as far/move as fast, i thought it might be like gold tees where women get a little bit of help to alleviate that disadvantge. "But they haven't got sexy legs like the men have " I know who's legs i'd rather have my face between.

"I'm confusing myself now. I'd forgotten I'd started this thread after the 2012 Olympics. I wondered why the posts were different to the most recent thread. " Becuase you are a lady, confusing men is your job.

"Is my question more relevant now we've had a reasonably publicised and successful World Cup? " No. The majority of people, myself included, have no interest whatsoever

"I'm confusing myself now. I'd forgotten I'd started this thread after the 2012 Olympics. " We were at the women's basketball semis, and the women's football final. I specifically chose those because women's lower physical strength in sport often leads to more interesting, tactical and intelligent play. And because, cynically, I knew our chances of getting tickets would be greater. So all four of us got to boo Sepp Blatter Will things change now? Sadly not. As always in football, rather than the players being lauded for almost getting into the final, everyone is picking fault in this or that aspect of their play. Football is all about money nowadays, and the sponsers follow the viewing figures, but only having Freeview, we couldn't even watch the majority of matches Our team did us proud, and I wish there was more women's sport on telly. (Or that the men had to go back to using a heavy, wet, leather ball, to stop them just kicking it from one end to the other, waiting for the set-pieces or penalties.) Mr ddc

"It seems to me that the women's game embodies much of what has been lost in the men's game. The women clearly love their game every bit as much as the men - more so, in fact, because they do it much more from passion than expectation of reward, and play with far more guts and without writhing around in histrionics any time someone breaks a nail or has hurt feelings... the men could learn a lot from them."
