Yeah I like that one. Have fallen out of love with slimming world to be honest but a few hangups still exist lol

The pinch of nom cookbooks are really good and gave some Deliscious recipes in them.

Because I realise calorie deficit and eating the right foods for your body is better. I can't eat as much pasta as I want (which you are allowed to do on slimming world) because I have insulin resistance and my body doesn't deal with the carbs it breaks down in to.

Also, the reasonings behind changing syn values etc are often business based, not food based.

I buy piece of rolled turkey from my local Butchers. It's an excellent lean healthy meat! Local body builders purchase it near me.

I put it in the oven with onions & cover with butter wrap it in foil & add water to the tray to keep it moist.

You could steam veg, not sure of butter alternative? Margarine/Oilve oil?

I have buttered garlic mashed potato - so new potatoes instead or rice. Steamed veg - usually 5 or 6 different veg.

Every thing in moderation, go brown instead of white....ie: brown rice, brown bread, brown pasta, low on carbs, defo' watch the sugar levels in things...even fruit, our bodies deal with natural sugars found in fruits than the refined ones...ie: sweets, cakes, and also the fat levels you have to watch...lard and butter. Knowing your body and your own metabolism helps too, thyroid issues can also affect your weight either way. It can be a mine field but helps to know these things. Exercise also can help if your eating more healthy you will see quicker results.

I have recently realised that dinner doesn't have to be a big meal. Sometimes egg on toast is all you need.

I think we are ingrained into thinking we have to have a massive meal for dinner. Or at least i am lol

I used to make a dish with shredded cabbage & leeks with chopped bacon medallions running through it and a poached egg on top

I also used to make a curry using Mayflower curry sauce, onions & chickpeas

My other 'go to' was rosemary & red onion sausages, poached or scrambled eggs, grilled tomato, peppered mushrooms & a potato cake

Keep bread & potato cakes in the freezer and just take out what you need a slice at a time

In the cupboard, it's too much of a temptation
