people - what do we mean by this?

I understand it could be seen yet another label but maybe this one does not alienate people against each other?

I have heard it in different contexts and with different connotations attached... so what does it mean to the collective wisdom of fabs posters?

?

To me it means someone who is reliable, honest and trustworthy, doesn't play silly mental games and is very straightforward.

La la land

I've only heard the Welsh version of this. And it's normally used to describe someone to helps their local community. Does it differ in English speaking communities?

...Someone who works in dusty down to earth places (doing back breaking work) without a complaint and giving every penny earnt to the wife for the benefit of the little 'un(s).

Salt adds flavour to what might otherwise be bland. But too much salt disturbs the balance, Salt is the the natural flavour we give to life when we are grounded in the spirit of nature.

I have a different view on Salt of the Earth’s meaning to what I did.

I have always felt, not sure why, that it meant a bit of a "rough diamond"?

But a diamond, nonetheless. I think the value of salt (and rough diamonds) are easily overlooked. One appears to be common and easy to come by and the other just looks like a rock unless you know how that rock polishes up.
