I’ve found that my faith in humanity has taken a bit of a knock recently, by way of this, please share a time or times that someone did something kind, nice or generous for you out of true kindness and you weren’t expected to repay the act.

OK... I raised £20,000 for a school outdoor build project, I don't like to receive praise and prefer to keep out of the limelight and tend to pick someone else to shine for me but I thought I'd make up for ruining your other thread

My car broke down in quite an awkward spot once and a man stopped behind me to warn other cars to slow down. I called the breakdown service and he stayed with me until they came. It was on a Christmas Eve after a night shift a few years ago.

A few special fabbers who gave us so much support when T was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma back in 2016. So many of our real life friends disappeared when we really needed them.

Some weeks ago a friend of mine brought me two bags of food as she knew I was struggling to get out. Wasn't expecting anything like. Offered to pay for the food but she wouldn't let me. Yes I said thankyou and she said anytime you want anything call me

La la land

When I was ill in hospital this time last year. My best mate was amazing. She offered to go shopping or cook food for me when I got out and leave it on my doorstep. She's sent me messages just to check I'm ok afterwards or send virtual hugs. It's not always the big grand gestures it's about being there when the shit hits the fan big time. Now off to send her a message to say I love her to bits

A lady in a cafe gave me a voucher for a free coffee because it expired that day and she wouldn't get chance to use it. It made my day.

When I went into hospital this time last year as an emergency, I was in overnight, and my kids dad wouldn’t have them. My neighbours who are also friends pulled together and between them, fed and housed my children for the time I was in hospital, despite it being full lockdown at the time.

It was such a huge relief, as I couldn’t do anything.
