Share with folks a time or times that you did something really kind, nice or generous for someone that was born out of genuine altruism and not because anything was wanted or expected in return

Newcastle-under-Lyme

My friend (and work colleague) had her car written off by her son. She was worried about getting to work and taking her elderly friends to the local church which she did in a regular basis. I was thinking of getting a new car anyway and so I gave her my old one.

I do stuff for other people most days that I don't benefit from.

I'm currently exhausting myself babysitting so my daughter can do her 2 jobs.

I love it, but it's extremely hard on my body.

And I'm tired

Gave away about 20k in the last 3 years, to family and friends.

Paid for a friend of my daughter to get their car fixed.

It's only money

Hefty Hideaway

I like to think I do this a lot as a matter of course. It can be something as simple as a smile or buying a pending lunch at a cafe for someone who might need it along the line. The one thing I do the most is take my neighbours dog along with me and mine on the big moorland walks because he doesn’t get out much.

A while back radio 1 had a day of kindness, the challenge was to go out with a flower and give it to someone to brighten their day.

Found a woman on Grey Street who looked like she was having a bad day and gave it to her. She asked what it was for and I just said to make her day better and walked off.

She probably thought I was a weirdo. Haha

I don’t think I’ve done anything life changing, I just try to be helpful if I can, I did stop my car last year heading one way, after passing an old guy pushing his car along the road while his wife steered.

Only pushed it for them a couple of hundred yards. But stayed there while they rang a tow truck.
