I've just ordered myself a fresh new pair of Vans.

I haven't been able to afford to buy myself nice new things for ages...like years! I've been skint for the past 6 years since I got sick again and had to give up work.

Now I'm tattooing almost full time and loving it. Finally able to afford to buy myself a pair of shoes when I need them without worrying if I'll still be able to eat and just going to Primark when my shoes finally fall in half... (I love Primark but their shoes don't last long!)

I stole my last 2 pairs of trainers from Jeff

So as strange as it may sound to some, over a 60 quid pair of kicks... I'm super proud of myself today!

I earned these fucking trainers!

What's been a proud purchase for You?

I have friends who run a custom business and they told me the bike in question was a limited number.

So I bought it, kept it for a year then sold it for over 18k.

Behind the bike shed!

We’re picking up a mini roadster Saturday, it’s basically a toy. Like my bicycles and Kitty’s Doxy. I don’t need it for transport, it’s not practical, it’s just for fun!

My proudest purchase aside from my house was probably when I bought 1200 euros worth of semen......

It was so that my horse could have a baby of course...said baby is now nearly two and absolutely adorable.

up until maybe two years ago I never really thought about money - I earnt much more than I spent and wasn't much of one for 'little' things ... big splurges when needed was where I was at and was mortgage free by my mid thirties. Now things are really different with income slashed. The in and out are pretty much in balance and i can begin to empathize with OP. Its tricky.

Short version - well done OP, not just for the fact that you are a bit more financially secure but for the less obvious fact you obviously spent years not screwing up and ending in a financial hole!

Just ordered a bottle of Neroli Portofino (or whatever it's called) aftershave.

Might as well have a new scent for when meets are allowed again

I have a few pieces of jewellery I bought for myself in my 20s that represent this for me. I hope to treasure them forever. They weren't expensive by my standards now, but they were a lot then. They represent me coming into myself at that time, what I hoped to become.

Chams or Socials

It was a holiday to Zante in 2016 for me & my 2 sons. My parents came too. I’d been saving £2 coins for 4 years as a newly single parent to pay for it. I’d met T the summer before but it was already booked.

Congrats OP, that's fantastic. I hope you're able to make many more purchases that bring you such joy (if you want to).

For me, the last thing that would count as a proud purchase would be a very early edition of a book I love. It's very frivolous and daft but this past year I've saved a lot of money and it can be passed down to future precocious generations.

Over the last few couple of years I've been so happy not to have to call the bank of dad if my car mot cost a lot and last month I spent £900 on repairs without batting an eyelash. It's an amazing feeling.

Next month I'm getting my air con thingy ( ) replaced, even though its a convertible so can just drive round with the top down of I'm hot
