"I used to have epilepsy, never encountered an issue with lightning, so I’m guessing not." Fair enough, just wondered really.

"Only of its mega dark inside and the flashes are mega bright and practically in the room. Lightening at a distance doesn't affect me at all. The flashes have to be my main light source for them to cause any issues. Interesting to know. It was bad last night it was like a strobe light being on in short bursts, so it made me wonder. Hopefully you were ok last night. " Yeah, I didn't see a single flash. The worst for me is in a car or on a bus etc when the sunlight is flashing through a tree lined street or some railings

"Only a small percentage of people who have epilepsy have seizures which are triggered by light." Thanks for the facts, it’s just most computer games and a lot of videos / films have epilepsy warnings for people with photo sensitivity. So wondered if lightning effected it.

"Photosensitive epilepsy is only triggered by flashes at a certain frequency. " I can have a twitch if a bird flies past, there are railings i can't walk past if the sun is at a certain height in the sky so I have to cross the road. It's a weird as fuck sensation, a cross between being made jump and that feeling you get in your tummy when you're on a rollercoaster, but you've zero control at all. I don't drop and seizure, I'll literally full body twitch but sitting, standing, however I am at the time and the instant the strobe effect stops, so does my "seizure" I'm incredibly lucky

"Depends on the type you have and triggers. Mine is photosensitive so flashing and flickering of lights. Doesn't have to be strobe lighting, camera flash can set mine off. So lightening can too if you're sensitive to it " How does yours feel? Do you get tummy flips? I'm totally aware when it gets me but no control whatsoever

No idea why, but it hurts! I have absence seizures so I get a cluster of them and then turns into a tonic clonic seizure. So I'm not really aware until it's all over. I get what you mean about the tummy flips, it's like that nervous feeling but X100. Crazy how so many people can have the same illness but have it so differently!
