Runner beans are for boiling and eating like a veg.

Broad beans are sooooooooooooo versatile.

I love them cracked, oiled and peppered under fish or egg......

I love em pureed with tahini or sunflower seeds for hummus .......

They are fandabbydozy in salad......

They shouldn't be in competition

But Granny I don't like the taste unless they're dried and salted.

Runner beans give me bad childhood memories - forced to eat the constantly replenished runner bean mountain my dad grew on his veggie plot.

Love green/runner beans, but broad beans are the food of the goods. Cooked then served in olive oil, garlic and oregano.

I recently got them in Tesco as part of a tapas pack. I have seen them in Marks and Spencers and I think I've seen them on Amazon

Now that’s something I’d be interested to cook!

On a mooch

I don’t think I’ve ever had either. It’s green beans / string beans in this house either as a stand alone veg or stir fried with pork mince, soy sauce and a splash of chilli

Runner beans are much easier to prepare and have little waste.

Broad beans have more flavour and look prettier on the plate, little bright green jewels, if properly prepared. But do take s lot of preparation and loads of waste.

Even so, broad beans for me.

They look beautiful while they're growing too.

For me, I think green beans go much better with fish! That's the way I roll & I don't care!

Let broad beans finish and dry out. They make good falafel.
