I've seen your pics... I've only just started and not tried suspension but for me it's the act of tieing and the art at the end... what comes after is a bonus...

I really feel that suspension is over rated. Ground work is far better for connection and more sensual play.

Suspension is fun and flashy, just my humble opinion

Always have your safety shears within reach!

5 minutes to learn, a life time to master

Love being a rope bunny. Also want to learn.

A few pics on my profile too.

Loved a 'happy knot' during a session of something else I enjoy.

There's also another guy on fab who is particularly good at ropework. His profile has plenty of pics of it.

Hopefully peer ropes will be back on the cards soon for learning and sharing

I adore watching it, trying very hard to learn and looking forward to the local workshops opening up again

Will be interesting to see what pops up around here, there were several groups pre lockdown, but we've lost a couple of venues etc so waiting to see what returns.

There are demos which take place once the clubs are open again.

Is that a strategically placed knot?

I am not sure if OP is drawing a distinction between shibari and kinbaku. I would say I am more of the kinbaku school and I am not remotely interested in the artistic side or "pretty rope". Although one of the flexible rules of Japanese style rope is that the rope work should look neat. Nor am I really interested in the pervy school of rope where riggers use it as an excuse to get women naked and get overly handy.

Given that kinbaku is about connection there is no opportunity to take pictures as it as all about being in the moment.

With suspension, I think it depends on the purpose of the suspension. A number of riggers do performance rope rather than Shibarin or kinbaku and suspension is a key part of performance. Also there are masochistic rope bottoms that love the feel of being in rope, suspended and processing the sensation. I belong to the school of armchair suspensions as I like to incorporate them when I can into a kink scene in a way that the rope bottom feels comfortable.

It will be great when the rope spaces reopen in the new normal.

It's very interesting, and I believe that in normal times there's a teaching course near us. Might have a look, but not sure it's 'our thing'.

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

Funny you should say that...Yes!

For one of my birthday's a few years ago I had an indoor rock climbing session for 2 hrs.

They showed me how to do a figure 8 re-thread (rewoven.) Had to learn that before I could Belay.

Would love to know more & where I could go locally (if possible)... I like doing practical things with my hands. So much better than being a desk jockey!

SSC is kinda dated you want RACK or PRICK these days, both centre on risk awareness.

Yes. We love the artwork of it.

I was lucky enough to have had some rope work done on me at Swingfields by Paul from Xtasia.
