Bray

Who gets your vote for the best heavy metal cover version, what's better than the original??

So many great songs out there I'd go with ugly kid joe papa was a rolling stone

Or maybe l. a. Guns check my brain or even their cover of tie your mother down,

What are your suggestions?

I think it works because there's melodical similarities between it and Smells Like Teen Spirit...which I seem to recall is partly how the Foos stumbled into covering it

Anthrax's cover of 'Antisocial' is fun too. It was originally by a French band called Trust, which at various times featured Iron Maiden drummers Clive Burr and Nicko McBrain in its line-ups.

I was there too! Wanted to see Megadeth since 1992, so that was very exciting for me! I thought he did ok once he’d warmed up, but I suppose it’s only to be expected that he wasn’t 100%. I was too excited to let it bother me though!

Ahem. Cover versions. Yes. A lot of the ones I like have been mentioned, like Halestorm’s “Bad Romance” and Marilyn Manson’s “Tainted Love”, but I’ll add Therion’s “Summernight City” as I don’t think it’s been mentioned.
