Do you think you are in touch with your intuition? How often you get that gut feeling of being right about something and how often you are actually proven wrong? Any regrets about not listening to that inner voice at times?

Seems like a lot of questions, but I will just appreciate general thoughts on importance of intuition to you.

Thank you.

I try to listen to my intuition. I didn’t used to, could have saved myself some garbage if I’d listened to my inner voice regarding my work life. I’m currently interested in reading a lot of love poetry. I have felt this way along time spiritually and looking forward to doing this.xx

Most people think they're right and intuitive.

I doubt anyone will think otherwise.

Things are usually twisted to fit our own agendas and narratives.

We are rarely wrong

Trusting your instincts is hard at times. Always that element of doubt... What if I'm wrong and I'm overthinking it? Sometimes we like confirmation that our instincts are right and need the proof but never get it. And I think for me that makes it harder to trust mine at times. But generally I think my intuition is pretty good. Not always and sometimes think I wish I had trusted it more.

I'm not often wrong when it comes to reading situations with people I know and my predictions what will happen can be horribly accurate too.

Most of the time it helps me walk away from things but sometimes you cling on in the hope that what you think will happen changes...it very rarely does.

I do but I don’t call it intuition, it’s more about reading people.

I’ve found over time that I don’t feel comfortable around people who aren’t being their genuine self. Something about their energy, their words or subtle tells make me unable to be at ease in their company. That also extends to interactions with people on here.

I try to follow it as much as possible.

It’s that gut feeling that lots of people talk about and usually is right

I don't think it comes from the gut

It's from the head making links between snippets of information and coming to a conclusion.

I don't know if I always get it right.

But I get it right enough to make decisions that haven't put me in dangerous circumstances or led to drama

For me intuition is my preferred way of taking in information. I tend to take in information in the form of more abstract ideas, thoughts and see emerging patterns of connection rather than just what I can sense through my five senses. I make decisions based on my beliefs and values and felt sense of that information rather than depth of analysis. So often get hunches about what is an appropriate course of action.

I frequently have acted against my better judgment and while the consequences haven’t been disastrous too often I’ve made more poor decisions than good ones.

Intuition and gut feelings in my opinion are a combination of experience and observation of our six senses. We subconsciously notice small tells that experience allows us to interpret without being aware that we're doing so.

People who appear not to be intuitive are just rubbish at trusting their own opinion and often override if or talk themselves out of it.

The thing about intuition, instinct, but feeling etc is that in the times we ignore it we have no way of knowing the outcome if we'd taken notice.

I ought to listen to mine a hell of a lot more than I do - pretty much every decision I've made in the last 15 years or so, both in life in general and work, had turned out to have been the wrong one in hindsight

Agreed. I also think that when it comes to intuition in terms of perception of people? It's just that, our perception of a person. What MaryPoppins said was also right but I'm too lazy to copy and paste it.

My gut feeling I believe is attached to my moral compass,, I use it like a higher power, it tells me that what I'm about to do or want to do isint the right thing...I'm more In touch with it today than ever.

However I can suppress it, avoid it, distract from it look for other reasons as to why I'm feeling that way...

In turn when I've gone against it, not heeding it things have always well for the mist part, turned out shit...then I have to accept the consequences of my actions

What is intuition?

To me it's the minds way of detecting and anticipating threats and opportunities. Some people have very fine defence mechanisms that help them detect threats to themselves.

For example a really good friend of mine is very good at detecting insincere people. She has trauma in her past and that pain has focused her on selecting the right people to trust. And she's very good at it.

She subconsciously reads people's body language, voice changes, conversations to give a snap decision on what people are really like. And I have to say she's usually spot on.

The flip side is when you over think and you over correct. When you trust everyone or no one.

I believe that intuition is usually right.

Intuition is incredibly important! I used to ignore my gut feeling but I learned a couple of years that was a mistake.

I think you should listen to your gut just as much as your head

Ive been very right about a lot of people but I've also been horribly wrong. Its tempting to forget about the times you get it wrong to allow the positive view we have of ourselves of being 'intuitive'.

My intuition tells me you might like cakes.....?

I'm very perceptive and good at reading people and situations. But I'm also very pragmatic and logically minded. I use a combination of the two things when making decisions.

That's such a good reminder. We might assume what the outcome would have been, how would we react or be affected if we acted according to that "feeling".

I like the science of intuition, the more you use it , the more it works, it’s nothing strange, just your brain reviewing thousands of previous decisions very quickly. I’m pretty good with people, and big decisions like houses, jobs, cars , business, but tend to deliberate on them more whereas with people it’s pretty instant

I have a saying I often use at work, “I’m either the smartest person in the room or the dumbest!”. So far I am yet to be proven wrong by the actions of my employer regardless if the words they use, sadly some of my colleagues are far more trusting and do believe what they are told - often to their detriment.

When it comes to my personal life I believe I am intuitive and find that people act in ways I believe they will. It’s always a surprise when they don’t, and sometimes a learning moment.

Intuition is probably just our brain learning from experience and observation and so being able to come to instant but reliable conclusions in situations it recognises.

I feel we should trust it in areas where we've had a lot of experience but be very wary in new situations.

I have strong instincts but if anything have come to question them if I think they're putting me off a new challenge or opportunity.

If I follow my head, it can be quite accurate unfortunately my heart has got me in to trouble a few times and the two don't always agree.

I like the idea of "older and wiser" but I think it's more being cautious than actual wisdom. I'm more likely to overthink and walk away because of the what ifs, nowadays.

Not sure if any of that is actually intuition or me just rambling

Maybe just your journey to the right choices at crossroads is longer than others. I don't believe there wasn't anything good in 15 years which you can look back on and feel that you've made the right choice, however small? Don't beat yourself up. Some might be harder to see or less obvious.

But that just means we are sticking to our beliefs and feelings and putting ourselves in situations or around people which are compatible with those? so yes we are right in our opinions, even if factually wrong.

I'm not particularly intuitive. If I get a bad feeling about a person it's usually because they've said something hinky or I've seen them being a dick, even if I don't remember that until later.

If I take an instant dislike to someone it's never as instant as I think.
