Swap Shop or Tiswas?

After reading a thread about favourite kids TV programmes from days of old, it had me (Pebbles) reminiscing about the Multicoloured Swap Shop hosted by Noel Edmonds on BBC1 at 9.30 every Saturday morning. See, I was a good girl, I was into recycling even back in the 70s

Quite a few of the kids I went to school with called me a snob because they watched Tiswas on ATV (OMG how old am I?????) at the same time, which was fronted by the likes of Lenny Henry, Chris Tarrant, Sally James.

So were you one of the Swap Shop "snobs" like me or more into the Phantom Flan Flinger on Tiswas?

Had to be Tiswas, if only to see Sally James in a wet T-shirt.

We've not had much telly from Brum, so had to support it. What's been made, Crossroads, Tiswas, erm, I'm struggling now.

Swap Shop started before Tiswas, its original rival was Saturday Morning Show, hosted by Sally James, followed by Space 1999.

So I use to watch one and then switch over to watch Martin Landau talk to weird Aliens dressed in plastic.

I was actually a Tiswas girl and on the last episode John Asher did. Anyone remember who the original phantom flan finger was?

Tiswas! I still remember Sally James boob falling out of her top and as I was all of about 10 at the time I thought that was the best thing ever!

And for the people with dirty minds there was "Compost Corner"! (Altogether now;- "Compost Corner!")

Anyone think of any other midlands telly shows? Space 1999 - just found another 'the Golden shot', Department S and Jason King, Randall and Hopkirk, Persuaders, The Prisoner, The Saint. Found these from ATVDVD. Know them?
