People who block

Jump to newest

Over the last few days I've received messages from people I haven't had contact with before.

I reply to their message but the next time I go to look at their profile I find I've been blocked.

Does anyone know why they do this or if you're one of the idiots that does it can you explain why?

I think the idiot is the person that can't work out they didn't like the content of the reply and decided they wanted no further comms.

I ain't Einstein but it's pretty obvious to me.

They block to save looking through profiles they have already seen and don't like could be one reason

I've blocked lots of people I've never engaged with simply because of their forum attitude or nasty and/or whinging statuses.

I've blocked people who contact me and obviously haven't read my profile.

I have no obligation to explain the above to anyone though. My profile, my choice.

My reply was polite and friendly.

I don't understand the attitude.

As one of the idiots who has occasionally done this, happy to explain, OP! The message or status or something else in the profile has lead us to the conclusion that we're not a good match, so we block, to avoid either of us wasting time in the future.

Happy to help

We've blocked plenty of people we've never had contact with because of things they've put in their profiles or posted in the forums. We've also blocked guys we've been chatting to for a short while but who've suddenly said/done something we don't appreciate. I don't see why we'd need to explain to anyone why we've blocked them any more that we'd expect them to tell us. Just accept it and move on.

Because I can

Why is there such a sense of entitlement in this site? If someone wants to block you they don’t owe you an explanation. They don’t owe you a reply. I would suggest any other mindset would perhaps make you the idiot.

People will block you based on this alone…their profile, their rules!

I'm not talking about everyone who blocks.

It's when you get a message from someone you don't know.

You send a nice reply but then get blocked.I've had contact from people who've had them same thing happen to them by the same person who contacted me.

It's a man,apparently I can't name him on here.

I was just curious why he's doing it.

Some of you have taken it the wrong way.

There must be two sides to this story. I’ve never had someone message me then block me, unless we’ve discovered we weren’t for each other, so have blocked one and other so not to be on each other’s searches.

Maybe they had second thoughts and lost interest so blocked you. Its the norm on here just move on never take a block as an insult onwards and upwards

OP

No one owes you anything here.

You will never know the answer to why people do things so it's best to move on and talk to the people that want to talk to you.

Good luck

Blocking just means move on! One reason or another they ain't interested, it happens to us all at some point,if happens after every message then change what you are saying.

Somewhere near here

I’ve blocked lots of people for varying reasons, I don’t think it’s me being an idiot, it’s me not wasting mine or their time.

Could being a profile I’ve come across that does nothing for me. Questionable forum conduct or status. Photos absolutely not to my liking.

And all that is before a message

If you call people idiots for doing this, I'm not sure how people are taking it the wrong way?

They have messaged you so that you will know they have blocked you. You find out when you go to reply again- otherwise you would never have known.

It's childish. Think of it as a lucky escape.

Don't waste your energy on wondering why, it happens, just one of those things.

Concentrate on those you are building a connection with
