i bet if you go for a year without a shag ... would definitely affect mental health...unless if its for medical reasons.

Went four year whilst I was married, so a year is nothing...using a hell of a lot of batteries though

I think it could affect your mental health even if it was for medical reasons.

I've so far gone 3 years without a shag, and I've not gone mental, well I thought maybe I had but a striped pink and green turtle who lives my in knicker draw told me I was fine

It didn't so much affect my mental health. It just made sex a bit uncomfortable the first few times but then it was fine again. I guess the muscles are out of practice.

I was talking to myself about this before and we both agreed I’m fine

Over a year here, not sure how it has affected me yet, sadly I think Ive forgotten how it was before. We'll hopefully see when things start to go back to how they were.

Over a year since I last saw my partner (she lives in the US) and despite having permission to play, this darned virus has made sure that I haven’t been able to.

Pretty unbearable, yes.

My longest dry spell was 12 years, and it definitely affected me badly.

I went over 10 years when I had my son. Some things are more important than a 'shag'

Lack of sex for a year may be an issue for some I suppose, but it suggests a bigger problem if it significantly impacts on your mental health.

In my experience, the longer you go without, the less it matters.

There's many more important things in life than sex. I went the best part of 3 years without sex after the breakdown of my marriage. I was in my early 20s and previously had very healthy sex life.

The question of lack of sex in the context of the pandemic, is a different quantity.

I suspect that it's the lack of physical contact that is the problem for many, and it is being perceived as a lack of sex.
