Champions All - TeamGB

So the Games are drawing to a close and our lads and lasses have done us proud. We've excelled in the sports we know we're good at, done fantastically well in those we don't usually do so well, and broke new ground with some of our female athletes. It's been a Great Games for Great Britain and I hope that the legacy it leaves is something Mo Farah said after his 5,000 run to Glory - "All it takes is hard work and dedication".

Here's the list of all TeamGB medal winners but, in my eyes, the whole Team deserves a medal. Well done.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Wishy, thank you for putting it all together as it's great to see it like this - real people and not just a numbers count.

I think I may love Anthony Joshua too - as a son, of course!

I love football but after the olympics i can't remember looking forward to a new season less. I think there may have been a redefinition of the word professionalism.

A lot of footballers by comparison seem to come up short

And sportsmanship.

I'm not happy that the Closing Ceremony hasn't even started yet but the football talk is already everywhere.

Someone commented on the fact that since Grandstand went off air the only real televised sports have been football, rugby and cricket.

As a confirmed disliker of televised sports I have been glued to the telly! It just goes to show what happens when more than the big three are readily available.

Now that's a proper olympic sport - just how many are capable of horse jumping, fencing, running, shooting and swimming!

"im glad i helped pay for it.

"

I agree - it adds to the sense of ownership. The additional London precept continues for a little while though.

I think Paul Deighton was correct to set out LOCOG's aim of spending £2bn to make £2bn as the value of that is worth more than the money. I way that Wenlocks and Mandevilles have been appearing everywhere they may even make a profit.

The inward investment is supposed to be fully realised by 2017.

It's also good for people to see something they can understand on how Lottery funding is used.

I'll have to check but I think the volunteers get a volunteer pin or medal for their work - it was certainly discussed in the early days.

The Pentathlon represents the activities a soldier would have to endure caught behind enemy lines, based on the 1900s when it was first devised that is as I don't see 3 Para charging in on horseback these days.
