What is “the right type”

So I’ve been here a while now and had so many “you’re a good looking guy but not my type” replies so I’d love to know what type you ladies are looking for.

Doesn’t seem to matter what they “say” they’re looking for. Some say “not looking for a gym freak”. Others say “love a dad bod”. Some say “looks not important” but as soon as I send a photo it’s “no thanks not my type but you look handsome”

I give up.

What makes your type? I assume you're not interested in every woman so what is that has drawn you to some but not to others in your adulthood?

I suspect this issue stems largely from the difference in outlook between most of the guys here and many of the females. An awful lot of guys just need physical attraction (some don't even need that) whereas a lot of females want a bit more and it's hard to quantify exactly what that boils down to because it's individual to each of them.

It must be very frustrating. I don't know what the answer is. I just know that in a room of 100 attractive men I would probably only find one attractive *to me*.

I’ve not been on here long but here is what I think about it.

I think there has to be a slight attraction. There is so much variety on here and there is definitely something for everyone. There also has to be a spark which is kind of hard to gage after sending a message but you just have to keep at it, be genuine and your personality will shine through!

We all have types, and I've been attracted to a type I didn't know I liked until it happened, but I accept that I am by the laws of average, someone's type. I was told just last week that I look like a cowboy in one of my photos, which I found amusing and didn't take offence to at all. But clearly the cowboy look wasn't their type I might try taking a superhero photo next

I don’t have a clear type... I’d say I’m

Cheeky enough to chat to women I’d normally think I’m punching well above my weight with.

Usually though I’d say I like chatty, funny, pretty and very confident. I’m attracted to people that have a drive for adventure. Look wise I’d say I’m attracted to the eyes and smile first,

Type or personal choice I message some lovely lady’s things are not good at the moment for us all respect the individual respect there choices personality comes through more often than not just enjoy what it is have fun after all we are all adults I’m chatty pain in the a**e sometimes ok most of the time

Ok we're having a bit of a joke about it but it seems that many women are wired differently to many men. Physical attraction often isn't enough and typically we can't really explain why. I think it might be social conditioning to an extent

Oh OP this made me sad. Please don't think this isn't the right place for you. It 100% is. The people who said that you weren't their type, just weren't meant to be. For you and them!

You haven't messaged the whole site, so those that have said that are such a small minority and you shouldn't dwell on those! Don't waste time on the no's, it's not worth it. And you are worth more.

You ARE someone's type.

Keep an eye out for socials when things open up. There will definitely be a Manchester one (MLS) but they can't advertise it at the moment as no meets due to covid lockdown.

If it was all about the voice, there would be different winners of the X-factor and other shows even though they're singing competitions.

Can't always put our finger on what the deciding factor is, is it a twinkle in the eye? Is it the song they sing?

Not sure it's helpful, OP, but you have to bear in mind that this is a numbers game on here in that men vastly outnumber the ladies. That means they have their pick. That means any sparkling wit or charm has to grab them straight away. At least you've had people take a look at you if they've said you aren't their type - half the guys will find their messages don't get looked at most of the time so you've obviously got something going for you. Keep active un the forums and wait for the clubs and you will hopefully find what you are looking for.

I get that this is soul destroying but if theres no attraction then whats the point.

My advice would be when we can go to organised socials or clubs.. as on here we have to take your pictures at face value which isn’t ideal
