Evening all, I was out in the New Forest yesterday for a walk, broad daylight, and when I got back to my car the window had been broken and a bag stolen. Now there was nothing of value in it thankfully but just be wary, those of you who go there, day or night, of any suspicious people about

BRIDPORT

It’s the same most places.

All the popular walking places around here have warning sighs pinned up telling people not to leave valuables in their vehicles and put any bags etc out of sight.

Imagine a car thief being confronted by twenty pissed off naked doggers!

still baffles me why people leave personal items in plain view inside their cars when left, ok, you might think there’s nothing of value in the bag, but the thief doesn’t know that until he’s broken in to find out, so now you have the inconvenience of getting the window of the car fixed, i never leave anything in the car anymore, haven’t for a couple of decades now, just keep things out of sight.

One thing I taught my kids Is never, ever leave anything on show through a car window , especially not a bag, the opportunist thief doesn’t know what’s in that bag so will break your window to find out

My MIL had our baby bag taken years ago, we came back to a broken window and bottles on the ground. Lesson learned!

A crime is never, ever the victims fault.

Of course we should sadly all be aware of our surroundings and not intentionally leave anything that looks like it could be valuable in your car. However thieves will look for the tell tale ring on your window even if you take your sat nav off and put it in the glove box. The responsibility for the crime is always the criminals.
