I was having normal periods plus they told me i couldnt have children, id not long moved in wit my ex husband, i was violenty ill one night and had the doctor out, he said i had an appendicitus, so stuck me on gas and put me in an ambulance and but me on the surgery ward. I was still being ill and not very with it. A really young student came and asked if i minded if had a poke around which he did. He asked for a urine sample. Next thing my ex husband walks in and tells me im pregant, he was jus walking by reception as they wheer giving my results over the phone. If it wasnt for the student doctor they would of opened me up for addenix. I had absolutly no idea how far i was gone so they did a scan and i was 15 weeks. I rang my mum then my best friend. The irony is i range my mum in the afternoon and she had sent my wedding invertations out in the morning. He wasa actually lying on a cyst thats why i was so ill.

I actually was only knowing pregnant for 17 weeks as i had him at 32 weeks

i was in total shock when i got pregnany with my 3rd, theres quite a age gap between my eldest 2 and the 3rd, i thought i had a water infection so went to Dr's he told me i was pregnant, i said i couldnt be as my hubby had had the snip, we didnt swing at the time and i hadnt been with anyone else so to me there was just no way, so they did another and i was, i cried i then had to go home and tell my seedless husband i was pregnant, i went thro hell for week with his family etc till he got the results back of a sperm sample he took in that confirmed he did indeed still have a sperm count, not a single person in his family said sorry for all the accusations they made

I went to the Dr with tummy cramps in the morning she had a poke n prod, asked for a urine sample (couldnt produce one there n then so went to the pub for a pint of squash).. went back dropped it off. Had a phone call and hour later saying could i pop in this afternoon with another GP.

I didnt think nothing of it as i had the rod implant in my arm and was only in there for just under a year. Was subjected to more poking and proding and then the GP played me a heart beat on the doppler (i thought it was mine) and she told me it was my baby's heart beat.. my first words were 'your fucking shitting me!' and then she said i was 6 and a half months pregnant.

I just cried and cried.. it was that Doctor who fitted my implant and she just cried with me..

She'd never known anyone fall pregnant on one. After an emergency ultra sound i was 33 weeks pregnant.

Realistically didn't hit me i was pregnant til i had my baby girl in my arms i was too busy with buying stuff and sorting somewhere to live.

It was our third year of trying and our second (and last) round of IVF. At first the test was negative and we were crying until I picked up the test and saw a really feint line.

I got hysterical, not really sure whether I was laughing or crying. I called my mum who couldn't understand a word I was saying (I was saying "there's a line, there's a line")

I was pregnant for 12 wonderful days before the inevitable happened and it was the most wonderful 2 weeks of my life.

I did a cheap tesco test and couldn't believe it so went into town on my lunch break hurried back and took the test in the ladies loo at work... A work mate had to convince me it was positive.

Happiness until I had the test.

We had decided well before and I had removed the coil about a year previously. Then the test came negative.

Missed another period and tested again and it was positive. We were both ecstatic.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I didn't know immediately with the first one. I was 19 and on the Pill but my boyfriend and I were like randy rabbits and I kept getting cystitis. The doctor I saw then gave me antibiotics but didn't mention that it would reduce the efficacy of the Pill! A bad time as I found out I was pregnant at the same time as the landlord told me that our rent hadn't been paid for the last two months and the boyfriend confessed he had developed a gambling habit. Things did not go well.

By my 6th pregnancy I was getting good at knowing the feeling and I knew the very next morning. That boyfriend got the news as we were eating brunch in a lovely cafe and reading the Sunday papers. I just looked up and said 'I think we just made a baby boy' and we had. My waters broke at 20 weeks and I carried 'dry' and with contractions for a further 5 weeks before he was born alive and very tiny. Twenty years ago and there is not a day that I don't think of my son.

My 7th I waited a few weeks before telling my then partner. He was shocked and didn't know how to feel about it. His children were almost adults and he thought he couldn't do the baby thing again. Luckily for him I had what is called a 'missed abortion' and had to be induced to give birth to my daughter.

The same partner 18 months later and I knew as soon as I told him about my 8th that I would miscarry. Two weeks later I did.

Strangely, the first, my son and the last all happened within the same week in March each of the years I experienced their loss. I always mark my son's birthday and I take the time to honour my other lost babies.

But I have had the absolute pleasure of being aunty to my three nephews (I'm their extra parent) and to all of the wonderful children, some now adults, that have been in my life.

I find it very hard when I hear about child abuse and neglect as I can't imagine how those parents cannot see how precious the gift is that they have.

Both of my pregnancies were planned but even so, when I kept being sick after every drink or food I had it didn't click at first. I assumed it was a nasty bug. When I was still being sick after the 3rd day I did start to wonder whether it was, so I did a test.

I remember feeling scared and thinking god what have we done, we're too young, I don't know what to do with babies.

I was also ecstatic and would walk around with cushions stuffed up my top to see how I would look. I couldn't wait to get a noticeable bump. So it was a mix of fear and happiness

God bless those babies who the other ladies have lost. I can only half imagine your pain. Xx

It took over 3 years of tests and procedures to conceive.

I was told at 15 it was highly unliikley I would never be able to have a baby.

I was 3 weeks gone when I found out. I was really sick and couldnt stand certain smells.

My OH told me to do a pregnacy test, and I did it alone as I really didnt think I was pregnant (i had gone through so many tests before hand) I also was having a problem with my blood, and while testing within a week (i had to have tests once a fortnight) it had cleared up, but they didnt know why, until I took the pregnancy test, sat on the loo with a fag in my gob, and found out I was pregnant.

I did 3 extra tests and went the doctors to confirm it as I couldnt believe I was pregnant, even after being told I couldnt conceive, I gave up contraception.

I have the most amazing child, who is happy, funny and healthy. He is my world.

Having been told I would never have kids I send my love to those who havent been as blessed as I was xxx

Just a quick question to all the mothers, did you have a gut instint what sex you was having. Now it didnt matter to me if i had a girl or a boy, however, i was adiment i was having a boy, i wanted to even go out and buy baby boy clothes, it was weird the sensation that was so so strong. In those days they asked you if you wanted to know the sex and we said no. I kept telling people i thougt i was having a boy and low and behold i didn, I had my second miscarriage when i was married(had one when i was nineteen as welll=) but the secong miscarriage i had the same strong feeling but that it was a girl, but i didnt get to find out.

Has anyone else had such strong feelings knowig what sex the baby would be

I stopped taking the pill and was pregnant a week later. Remember being nervous about telling my dad even though I had been married for two years !

Lost the next three though and am too old I think now

I was convinced my first (and only) was a girl. He didn't have a name for three days as I had only got a girls name.

Love him to bits and so glad he is my boy x

Diamond, every time I have been pregnant I have had a really strong sense of the sex. Even though sex is not apparent until 6 weeks I have always felt it pretty instantly. I only know about 3 of them but I was correct on those 3.

I have also had the sense of what sex other women are carrying. I've been about 80% correct with those. I'm quite good at spotting when women are pregnant too, often before they know it.

Mine was just by me though as we had decided we didn't want any more and I changed my mind but he didnt. When I told him he didn't speak to me for 2 days then I lost 1 as we found out when I had scan it was twins. He was so upset and now at 19 she is the apple of her dads eye.
