Some people "drip feed" several messages instead of sending a single complete message. This drives me nuts when my phone keeps putting out audible alerts from the messages. Am I just intolerant or does this wind anybody else up?

If only there was a way around the problem, like switching your notification’s off, but science experts warn that such technology is a years away.

It depends. If its a message for them to reply to when they see it I try to only send 1. 2 max if I forgot to say something. If we're both rapidly chatting back and forth it's a bit different.

Fortunately I don't know anyone like that, yet.

However, I expect it will catch on.

I turn off all notifications and look at messages/updates when I'm ready.. Even more importantly i reply to messages when I'm ready

If I'm really not feeling it, i turn my data off for a while

This irks me too.

I can usually tell who it is from the number of messages and different app sounds/vibrations without looking though

I've done the same: the weight of alerts from drip feed messages, groups and apps was becoming ridiculous. I also put the phone in another room sometimes if I need get stuff done to avoid any temptation. Indistractable is a good book that deals with all this.

.

Intolerant. Grumpy. Grumpily intolerant.

Sometimes a long block of text is rather boring, I like the short punctuated ones that suggest a stream of consciousness, the person is texting me as they think it. I normally have my personal life notifications muted so I can pick up as and when I want to if I'm going to get annoyed/distracted by texts.

Yep, when I haven't had my morning coffee

I wonder if the situation would be different if the sender had to pay per message like in the olden days? Bet that would focus the mind a little!!

I can’t deal with multiple messages, if it takes a paragraph so be it I’d rather my phone went off once than five or six times
