What's your favourite piece of random trivia? The utterly pointless kind which nevertheless makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside for knowing it?

Two of my favourites are:

A melcryptovestimentaphiliac is someone who compulsively steals women's knickers

The three-point seat belt was invented by Volvo, who were so convinced of its value in saving lives that they deliberately did not patent the idea do that every other vehicle manufacturer would be encouraged to use the design

The ancestors of the present extant giraffes, which had hypotension (low blood pressure) collapsed when they raised their heads aloft to reach food, and therefore perished through starvation and did not reproduce.

Hypertension, or more precisely an appropriate level of systolic and diastolic blood pressure can in some specific instances be beneficial, and ensure the survival of this species.
