"My first job was in a mechanical and electrical engineering consultants office so I learned to do everything there in millimetres. Generally, I use millimetres, centimetres, inches, feet, metres and miles though. I use imperial or metric for cooking depending on what the recipe book says I do like to mix it up but I never get confused." Good skills.

"Imperial, I've always worked in that. Working out clearances, if someone gives me metric I'll convert to imperial as it makes more sense to me. " I can imagine 30psi, no idea what 2 bar feels like.

"I like whatever scale has the right sort of numbers around where I am. 6ft, 13st... As much as I'd rather it was 12st 6lb, those are good numbers for what we're measuring there. 82kg... ehh it's too big a number, harder to get hold of. as is 50 farenheit, when 10 celcius is more tangible." Stone... igneous?

"I'm a right hash of imperial for distances in miles, imperial for sizes for sheets of wood/boards and for when accuracy is important I will use metric for lengths of wood " I’ll be on honest working to mm makes the maths easier than to 1/32 of an inch.

"Metric is just easy " Well it's sort of not. a foot being 12 inches means it can be immediately divided into 2, 3, 4 and 6... Base 12 is pretty awesome. Maths would be so much easier if we used the Duodecimal system... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, 10, 11, 12...

"While I intellectually understand metric is superior, my brain thinks in imperial. I have no visceral sense of what 2.54cm looks like, but I know exactly what an inch is. " I'm absolutely the opposite An inch is about 2.5cm, a yard is about a metre, and if you start talking about stone I'll go looking for a geologist

"I’ve just put the metric side of a rule against my old chap. It just didn’t seem right. The only time I think I use metric is when out running I measure my runs in kilometres and pace in minutes per km and when I’m cooking I use metric measurements. What about you fellas and fellatinas. " I measure mine in pixels. It’s massive on a HD screen.
